Similarity is a pet project of Jeff Schnitzer, with some help from friends. It's both a social experiment and a place to show off some nifty technology.

We hate spam too. Your personal information will not be sold.

That said, much of your profile will be visible to other members. Everything except your email address and password are considered "public". if you don't want other people to see it, don't answer the question.

We would like to thank the following Open Source projects and their contributors, without which Similarity would be a hell of a lot more work:

• JBoss - It confounds me that anyone would use, let alone pay for, any other J2EE appserver. Similarity runs on a build of jboss-5.0.0alpha pulled from CVS head... recently.
• Hibernate - The persistence layer used by JBoss to provide EJB3.0 entity beans.
• Firebird - Free, easy-to-use, full-featured RDBMS.
• Tagonist - A laughably simple web MVC framework.
• BDU Style Project - Followup to the Tigris style project. The only reason this site is not hideously ugly.
• Apache Software Foundation - Countless tools and libraries, including Tomcat, JSTL, a dozen projects from the Jakarta Commons, and of course the HTTPD.
• Eclipse - I was a text editor holdout until Eclipse 3.0. I will never go back.
• Linux - Duh.
